Dear CHOCoM comrades...
The glory of the "Kamuri " or the Crown has come to an end for owners of XV 50..Toyota Camry derives its name from the Japanese word Kamuri or Crown which lasted from 2011 until 2018. The new year ushered the new XV 70 known as the" beautiful beast " with its curvaceous shape which reflects the new design language of the Japanese with more aggressive front end styling.FYI, the Camry is also known as the Aurion in Australia and the Daihatsu Altis in Japan.
In the Malaysian market, the Toyota hybrid is endowed with the 2.5-liter ARFE coupled with the Atkinson cycle producing 180 horsepower and 213 n.m of torque at 4500 rpm. Enough power to embarrass a Mercedes E class at the starting point because of its instant torque.
Some of our members are also taking advantage of the end of the era by buying new models like the electrifying Volvo and the awesome BMW G20. Sad for the group but I'm happy for the new owners for getting a better and more expensive ride.
Some members do not know that the same platform (K platform) used in the old Toyota Camry XV 50 is also being used in the beautiful Lexus model like the RX 350. The same platform is also used in the tough heavy duty truck, the Highlander, which is very popular in the United States.
Some owners have cited the probability of the traction battery giving up before the 8 years warranty period as the main reason for buying new cars..
However, for the current owners please not to worry so much because the cost of the battery will definitely come down.It is believed that the price of the battery now is around 6- 8 K. The traction battery in the hybrid will definitely last long but it all depends on how we maintain the car, the way we drive the car and the age of the vehicle.
Hoping that those members who have graduated to please not to forget us but continue to be part of the Camry hybrid community and to continue contributing in terms of knowledge..
